Making the Page Legible

As we get older our eyesight is one of the first indications. Fortunately, there are a few tricks on a computer that trumps paper. Although this video is out of sequence, I feel it’s an important topic in order to make working on a computer more enjoyable.

Let’s face it… everything is more enjoyable if you can actually see what’s going on.

Watch this tutorial for three different ways to increase the size of text and images on your computer letting you focus on you job, instead of what the computer (or other website) is trying to tell you.

The Formatting Toolbar

Formatting text for the web is as easy as using the built-in buttons to select the desired effect just like your typical word processor. However, the full toolbar is initially hidden from view.

In this video, we expand the formatting toolbar and look at what the various buttons do and how to use them. Among formatting options we also look at adding links to other pages within your site, links to other sites and proper net-etiquette and keeping the synopsis short using the continue reading button.

Video Series Announced for WordPress Writers

We’re pleased to announce that we’re in the process of producing a series of videos aimed directly at blog writers, more specifically, WordPress blog writers. This series is unique in the sense that backend knowledge — as in administrative knowledge — of running a site is not required, nor does extensive understanding of computer lingo and procedures. They are written specifically with the “computer illiterate” in mind.

This doesn’t mean that complex situations won’t be covered — well, complex for the computer — it simply means that they’re presented in such a way as to maximize writing time and computer strengths and minimize frustrations.

These videos will be available through this website in a coherent collection and on YouTube.

We hope that you find them useful and look forward to your comments and suggestions for future episodes.
